I sent a request to Dave Stapleton asking him to tell a story on a baseball about why he thought he was not playing for defensive purposes instead of Bill Buckner in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series and this is what I got:

"I had loosened up to go in the game like every other game in the play-offs and Series."
"I was surprised my name wasn't called. But I was most disappointed we didn't win."
