I sent a request to Chuck Goggin asking him to tell the story on a baseball about his memory of Roberto Clemente's 3000th hit and this is what I got:

"I can never forget this night.  Pennant was clinched in New York.  Played the Mets.  Matlack pitching and I am starting my first game & leading off.  Everyone there to see Clemente."
